I am a founding member of the Future Technologies Group led by Jeffrey Vetter at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

• performance measurement, analysis, and tools

I earned a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While at Wisconsin, I was a member of the Paradyn performance tool research group led by Prof. Bart Miller, focusing on scalable on-line performance analysis techniques.

I earned a M.S. in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.S. in computer science and mathematics from the University of Iowa. At Illinois, I was a member of the Pablo Research Group led by Prof. Dan Reed (now at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). At Iowa, I was an undergraduate research assistant to Prof. Thomas Casavant in the ECE Parallel Processing Laboratory.

Between my time at the Universities of Illinois and Wisconsin, I was a software developer for a startup company called MCSB Technology (first known as Supercomputers International and later CHEN Systems), working on system management tools. The company was founded by Steve Chen, the principal designer of the Cray X-MP, and located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
