I am a Post-doctoral Research Associate, on staff at the University of Tennessee but based in the Future Technologies Group (Computer Science and Mathematics Division) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
My research interest is in high performance parallel computing, particularly the interfaces between programmer, compiler, operating systems and hardware.
My PhD thesis -- from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, under the supervision of Dr. Charles Fischer -- explored the possibility that exposing some of the mechanisms of hardware-based cache-coherence protocols to software could enable more scalable shared address-space machines.
My current work continues in a similar vein, evaluating the memory performance of scientific applications on current and future large scale platforms.
